Best of Beef Sale Report
Following the Limousin Judging at Beef 2018 on Wednesday we attracted a large crowd in the Limousin Australia Beef Site. Aussie Land and Livestock from Kingaroy conducted the Best of Beef Female and Genetics sale under the Helmsman auction System. Vendors Included BJF, Elwanvale, Jen-Daview, O’Sullivans, Graneta and Raven. 

Equal top priced heifer was Lot 5, Elwanvale Nightcap N28 selling for $5000. A black polled 10 month old heifer by Greenwood PLD Zambuka. N28 earlier in the day placed 1st in the 9-12 month heifer class were she took the eye of purchasers D & S Hartwig of Gold Crest Limousin Stud, Crow’s Nest. The other equal top priced heifer was Lot 3 Jen-Daview Naomi, an 11 month old polled apricot heifer by RPY Paynes Derby who also sold for $5000 to Greg and Suzie Walters, Minnamurra Limousin stud Springsure. 

Other Highlights in the heifer section included Lot 1 O’Sullivans Black Pearl N14 selling for $4500 to Black Gully, Kingaroy and Lot 4 Elwanvale Nigella N24 selling for $4000 to MK Cattle Company, Murgon. 

Jon and Leny Gaffney, Graneta Limousin stud offered the pick of their Spring Heifer Calves which sold for $4000 to D & S Hartwig of Gold Crest, Crow’s Nest. Brad and Jodie Frohloff from BJF Limousins Yarraman offered the pick of their Hunt Credential x Bonian Jazzle Dazzle embryo calves which sold to the Beresford Family Nanango. 

Embryo packages made to $700 per Embryo for Lot 9 account Elwanvale Limousin Stud selling to Benjarra Pastoral Company. CCJ Limousin Stud secured Lot 8 from Raven Limousin and Lot 10 from Elwanvale Limousin Stud both for $600 per embryo.
