With areas of the East Coast of Australia being affected by severe flooding can I call on you our members to connect with our Limousin breeders in these areas to offer your assistance and support where possible? I am aware that some members have lost cattle, winter fodder supplies, fencing and machinery. There may also be cases where our members will have lost their homes or access to the use of their homes.
If you become aware of some members requiring extra support can you please advise any of the Board members including myself so we can assist where practical. If members have lost cattle please advise as soon as possible and ALBS will support in the most appropriate manner.
Now and the following months leading into winter will be a very testing and stressful time for the people who have been hit by these floods, this is the time to show care and compassion for our fellow breeders and help in whichever way we can.
These floods have covered an enormous area down the east coast of Australia from Bundaberg in the North and to Sydney in the South, we need assistance from the Region, APGs and members in gathering information on who is affected.
While I would have covered other Board projects in this newsletter I feel that all attention needs to be directed to the flood crisis at this time.
On behalf of all members of the Limousin Society Australia and New Zealand I offer our support and concern for the current and future challenges you face in the wake of these floods.
