In the Top Ten
As you read this newsletter
I will be at the famed Tamworth Country and Western Music Festival enjoying the sounds of Graeme
Connors, Sara Storer, Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole or another of the hundreds of
artists who make their annual pilgrimage to the home of Country and Western
music in Australia. The festival started in a very meagre way in the mid
sixties as a presentation of “hill billy” music and has grown to now claim to
be one of the ten largest music festivals in the world. The temperature will be hot as it is in the southern states
which are enduring some terrible bush and grass fires. As far as I am aware no
Limousin breeders have been affected but Greg and Marylin Frost of Frontiere
Limousins at Tyrendarra Vic must have been very close to the Heywood fire a
couple of days ago.
International Limousin Conference
Everyone should have received the updated program and
individual event prices for the Core Conference this week. Over the next week
you will receive the updated programs for the pre and post tours. Make sure you
get involved in at least part of what will be an exciting three weeks for
Limousin in Australia so that you can meet and talk with fellow Limousin
breeders from around the world
Entries up for South Australian Beef Week
There will be seven Limousin studs on display in the South
Australian Field Days from 5th February to 8th February
including two studs, Roean and Mandayen which will be on display at two
different venues on different days .
This compares with 12 Simmental studs and three Charolais in the total
of 100 studs on display. Many of the
studs on display will have bulls for private sale.
