Melbourne Royal Highlights

Premier Mimi Y48, a 15 month old heifer by Premier Guardian V77 was crowned the Supreme Champion Limousin at the 2004 Melbourne Royal.  Premier Mimi exhibited by Fred and Michelle Geard of Joadja NSW was earlier awarded the Junior and Grand Champion Female of the Show by the judge Daryl Jones.

The Senior Champion female Birubi Power Extra X230 an EXLR Power Up daughter was exhibited by junior member Daniel Laird from Warrnambool, Vic.  Daniel won this female as a heifer at the 2003 National Show Junior Judging Competition and both Daniel and breeder of the heifer, Annette Tynan were thrilled with the win.  The black heifer was donated by Annette and Michael Tynan for the 2003 competition and has certainly found a good home.

The Grand Champion Bull Tuerong Park You Bute chalked up the third successive Grand Champion Bull award for veteran breeder John Stubbe.  It is most likely a record for the Limousin breed - has any other stud won three successive Grand Championships at a Royal Show?

Elders Embryo Auction Online

Have just had an email from Tim Bayliss, the National Coordinator for Auctions Plus at Elders to say Elders are conducting an online embryo auction on 22 October.

Tim said the last embryo auction was a huge success but was stacked with Angus embryos.  He is keen to make the auction a truly all breeds sale so has invited entries from Limousin breeders (and other breeds).

He says that entries need to be in very soon with entry forms available from Tim on tim.bayliss@elders.com.au or phone 02 6036 2444.

If you are interested in buying embryos or just watching the sale you need to register with www.auctionsplus.com.au or contact your local Elders branch.

Wanted Brahmousin Bulls

I had an enquiry this week for 20 to 30 Limousin X Brahman bulls from a large commercial breeder in central Queensland.  If you have suitable bulls for sale please contact this office and we will pass on the contact details.
