ILC Young Ambassadors

Five young Australian Limousin enthusiasts have been selected as Young Ambassadors for the ILC Conference.  They are James Morris from WA, Lachlan Nichols and Melanie Keirl from Victoria and Ashlee Austin and Katherine Wellings from NSW.

This week I had an email from Kaitlin Campbell who will be attending the conference as a junior ambassador from Canada.  She is keen to stay on in Australia for a week or two after the conference to see a bit more of Australia and is happy to so some chores in exchange for accommodation.  If anyone would like to host this enthusiastic young 19 year old from Canada for a week or so after the conference please contact me.

Life member, Dr John Stubbe died last Friday at the age of 80 while doing what he loved doing most in his retirement – feeding his Limousin cows.  John started his Tuerong Park Stud in 1979 and exhibited cattle in the Melbourne Royal Show continuously from 1980.  He paraded Grand Champion animals at Melbourne, Adelaide and Canberra Royal Shows as well as the National Show and sale.

John was a Councillor of ALBS for four years and Chairman of Victorian Region for seven years.

As a consultant physician and heart specialist by profession, John was always actively aware of the health benefits of lean beef, and for several years was on the lean beef committee of the International Limousin Committee.  He wrote extensively on the health benefits of lean beef with his articles published in the Rural Press and the British, North American and Australian breed journals.
