Come to the ILC Functions at Albury

Two great nights have been organised in the Albury Wodonga area, so come and enjoy.

 

Sunday April 2nd at The Hume Weir Resort. A pick up has been arranged at The Country Comfort Albury at 7 pm arrive at the resort 7.25 pm.  Those coming by car please be prompt as we have a treat for you.  7.30 pm "The Flying Fruitfly Circus will be performing a spectacular fire twirling act on the lawns in front of the lake.  These young people are also a star attraction at The Commonwealth Games!  How lucky are we!  A delicious three course meal and drinks are inclusive.  Price $70.

 

Monday April 3rd at 7 pm.  Have you booked yet for a fun filled night at "The Kinross Wool Shed," Old Sydney Rd. Thurgoona, not far from Albury.  This night includes a delicious BBQ Buffet meal, free pre -dinner drinks, then bar service at pub prices.  An Irish-Australian Bush Band to get your feet tapping.  To make this a really Australian Experience we need your support to make this a fun night.  Please feel free to bring you friends along to this Bush Dinner Dance.  Price $40.00.

 

Volunteers Needed

We are looking for some volunteers to look after the merchandise stall at Sydney Royal on Saturday 8th April during judging.  We will establish a roster so that no-one is required for more than one hour during the day.  Please contact Glyn Williams on 0418 975 343 if you can help.

 

Central NSW Beef Week

Seven Limousin studs will be open during the Southern NSW Beef Week.  On day 3 Wednesday 22nd March, Tobias Limousins at Forbes will be open.  On Thursday 23rd march will see Kaludabah at Mudgee, Stevens at Birriwa and Timor at Coonabarabran on display and on the following day Benika at Cargo will be open.  On the final day Sunday 26th March the Beaumont Stud at Beaumont will be open and Longreach at Marulan will be open.

 

National Beef 2006 at Bendigo

A new venture, National Beef 2006 will be run at Bendigo (Vic) from 19-21 May.  It will include a Hoof and Hook Competition, stud judging, an all breeds sale and seminars and information sessions.

Correction

The Grand Champion bull at Canberra Royal Show was the Junior Champion Waterford Monster Magic exhibited by Hayley Sheehan from Latrobe in Tasmania.  Hayley also took out the Limousin Breeders Group.

 

Tanholm Major Reduction Sale

Tanholm Limousins will offer 200 females and 40 bulls via an Auctions Plus Internet Sale on Friday 21st April.  The sale catalogue will go onto the Limousin website next week.

 

New Record for Nowra

There is a new record for grain-fed yearling steers at Nowra saleyards, with a Limousin cross making 308 c/kg, or $1,232 for Gary and Robyn Nelson, Nowra Hill.

 

The steer which had won champion ribbons at Berry, Nowra and Kangaroo Valley shows was bought by Les Beresford, East Nowra Butchery, and sold under the hammer by Stuart Warden of A.J. Campbell and Son.  The steer hung-up at 248 kg and dressed at 62 percent.
