Limousins Dominate at Bega (NSW)- Far South Coast National Show
Limousins excelled in the 100 head strong trade cattle section on the first day of beef competition. Stud exhibits on this day were looked over by a large number of cattle men & women from the local area. Press releases in the local paper & air time at the showground spruiking about Limousins created a lot of interest with several bull buyers indicating their intention to attend the National Show & Sale at Wodonga.
A fantastic breed display organised & manned by Michael Stacey was a real winner with lots of information taken up by the locals.
All who saw the cattle were extremely impressed with the quality & consistency.
The commercial display was a major success for the breed in a large vealer production area.

Strong Sale in the UK
The following quote reports a very string sale at Carlisle on the Scotland England border. Carlisle is included in the itinerary for the International Limousin Conference in August.
"A massive audience of commercial and pedigree producers competed fiercely for a quality show of Limousin bulls at the British Limousin Cattle Society's Spring Show and Sale held at Borderway Market on Saturday 21st February 2004.
Bidding was fast and furious with a terrific day's trading topped at 31,000gns for the junior bull Wilodge Thumper offered by the prolific partnership of Christine Williams and Richard Bartle trading as DA Williams, Lodge Hill Farm, Park Lane, Shifnal.
The junior section of bulls was packed full of quality and the fifty sold from these classes averaged an incredible 5301 Pounds. In all, 144 bulls averaged 4046 Pounds with 9 bulls selling at over 10,000 Pounds and 31 bulls in all (21%) selling at over 5000 Pounds. The sale very clearly demonstrated the market's demand for first quality bulls and the commercial producers willingness to pay five figures for bulls of this type".
For your interest 5301 Pounds converts to $12,740 Aust. and 4046 Pound converts to $9,725 Aust.
More details of the sale are available on www.limousin.co.uk
Yours in Limousin
