TOP STEER SELLS FOR $8,032 AT SYDNEY ROYAL

At the auction of steers after judging at the Sydney Royal Show the stand out sale was a massive $13.80/kg liveweight for the 582kg grand champion steer amounting to $8,032. The steer bred by the Kirk family, Wilworril Limousins and prepared by St Johns College, Dubbo, was bought by the well known Kingsley Steak House in Sydney after a fierce bidding duel with another well known Sydney steak house.

The champion middleweight steer was the next highest price at $7.75/kg. Weighing 496kg the steer made $3,844. Bred by Don & Sarah Riley, Oakvale Limousins and prepared by Calrossy Anglican School the steer sold to Steersons Steak House in Sydney.

The champion schools steer sold to Kingsley Steak House for $5.50/kg. Bred by Wilworril Limousins and prepared by St Johns College the steer weighed 522kg to make $3,036.

Kingsley Steak House also purchased the champion junior steer for $5.25/kg. Also bred by Wilworril Limousins and prepared by St Johns College the steer weighed 332kg to make $1,743.

The average price for the 32 Limousin steers sold at auction averaged 337.8c/kg to easily top the averages.
