NATIONAL SALE TOPS AT $11,500

In a strong National sale, 31 of 38 lots sold for an overall average of  $4,194, which was up by $777 on the average for the 2008 National Sale. Top selling lot was Ramornie Crusader C18, a September 2007, black and polled ROMN Justice son which was earlier judged the Supreme Exhibit by the judge Tom Baker. The bull was purchased by Tony Iaria, Bogong View Limousins, Mt Beauty, Vic.

Top priced female at $6,500 was Birubi Della D17, an April 2008, homozygous black and homozygous polled Hunt Mr Jock 44J daughter which was purchased by Michael and Mary Parsons, Kia Ora Limousins, Roslyn, NSW who also purchased the top priced female from the 2008 National Sale. This heifer had earlier been selected the Junior Champion Female.

It was the bulls which showed the biggest increase in demand compared to last year. Six of the seven junior bulls offered sold to the top of $11,500 and averaged $4,667, up by a whopping $1,834 on last year with the only unsold bull passed in on a bid of $13,000. Second top priced junior bull was Willow Park Double Up, a French Pure son of Junior sold to Peter Bramich, Sheffield, Tas.

Seven of the 10 senior bulls offered sold for a top of $5,500 and an average of $4,500, up by $1,365 on the 2008 sale, The top priced senior bull was Willow Park Charmeur B, an August, French Pure Omis B son sold to commercial breeders, the McKenzie family, Timboon Vic. Three senior bulls sold at $5,000. Kensal Barham, a homozygous black and polled bull sold to Jason & Bronwyn Malseed, Mount Gambier Limousins, SA. Nunkeeri Park Charlie, a polled apricot bull sold to Tony Iaria, Bogong View Limousins, Mt Beauty and Longreach Cavalier, a polled, apricot bull sold to Scott and Tessa Stow, Limstow Limousins, Warrenbayne, Vic.

Second top price in the junior female section was $5,250 for Donna Valley Chloe Rachel, a September 2007, French Pure, Ionesco daughter purchased by junior member Courtney Atkins, Berowra Heights, NSW.

Top priced senior female was Mandayen Very Special A480, a Wulfs Guardian daughter with a Western Park Umberto bull calf at foot which sold to Tony Iaria for $6,250. Two senior females sold at $6,000. Lochton Collies Choice B54 sold to Peter Ellis, Jupeter Limousins, Heywood, Vic and Donna Valley Poll Sable, a ROMN Justice daughter with an Ivy's Shazam bull calf at foot went to Michael and Mary Parsons.

One of the two embryo packages offered sold at $650 per embryo for six embryos from Premier Cauliflower S3 by ROMN Justice to Brian Dibble, Coolbeenie Limousins, Subiaco, WA.
