
With 54 registered buyers there was strong demand for both bulls and females at the Blue Ribbon Invitation Sale at Toowoomba Showgrounds with bulls topping at $11,500 and females at $8,000
The top priced female was Paul and Kelli Forman’s Oakwood Bambi a polled French Pure heifer by Denison Polled Lance which sold to junior member, Ben Passmore, Benjarra Limousins, Clifton, Qld.
Ben Passmore also paid $6,000 for Oakwood Jayla, a black and polled TMK Kodiak daughter which had been AI’d to Graneta Caesar. Paul and Kelli Forman sold Oakwood Prada, a polled apricot ROMN Justice daughter to G Hargreaves, Millmeran at $3,750 to top off an excellent sale of six females for an average of $3,708
Kandu Billy Jean, an apricot Goldenview Kruggerand daughter, close to calving, offered by Greg and Chris Bell sold at $5,000 to Trevor and Debbie Stephens, Greenslopes Limousins, Pittsworth, Qld. Kandu Bewitched, a French pure Junior daughter, close to calving, to Megan and Jason Livingston Ballycasheen Limousins, Maidenwell, Qld. The Bells sold three females for an average of $3,500.
Trevor and Debbie Stephens sold two heifers at $3,250. The first, Greenslopes Dancing Queen, was a French Pure, Refstrup Tabias daughter which sold to B & R Yarrow Family Trust, Norwin, Qld. The second, Greenslopes Dolly was a black and polled daughter of Greenslopes Bob The Builder sold to Tony and Barbara Hollis, Pinkett, via Glen Innes, NSW.
Robyn Nobbs sold a horned, apricot cow, Ro-Maree Annabel, with a July bull calf at foot and depastured with Ro-Maree Dalby which sold to Camp Riehl, Pittsworth, Qld, for $3,000.
The top priced bull was Graneta Caesar, a black and polled, Kensal Yeppoon son which sold to Jeff and Kerry Etheridge, Red Rock Limousins, Ebor, NSW and Matt and Jenny Friend, Froghollow Limousins, Black Mountain, NSW at $11,500.
Greenslopes Dark and Stormy, a black and polled DJ Gentleman in Black son sold at $7,500 to Samantha Fletcher, Bluff View Limousins, Tenterfield NSW and Oakwood D104 a black and polled TMF Kodiak son went to the Australian Agricultural College, Dalby Campus for $6,000. The three bulls averaged $8,333.
Four embryos by Kensal Yeppoon from Kensal Black Pearl A70 offered by the Gunnadoo Partnership sold to Peter Gaffney for $750 each.
There was a complete clearance of the seven Limousin steers topping at $2,000 for a four month old Limousin steer calf offered by Trevor and Debbie Stephens and sold to steer specialists Bob & Elaine Dull who paid $1550 for the top priced steer in 2008. That steer went on to become a very successful show steer in 2009 and won $500 cash for the steer bought from the sale last years Blue Ribbon Sale which won the most Championships.
In the wash up three cows and calves averaged $3,167, 10 joined heifers averaged $3,575, 24 unjoined heifers averaged $1,558, three bulls averaged $8,333 and 11 steers averaged $873 in a sale which grossed $120,250.
