CLEARDAY PARK NEWS …………….DECEMBER 2008. So far this year we have had some exciting developments within our herd.
We have bred our first polled black bull calf, Clearday Park Digby out of a Kensal Black Pearl Z17 cow by Wulfs Ridgley, nice disposition and will be interesting to see how he turns out…looks good so far!!!!
Another black polled heifer Clearday Park Diamond has been sold to Kathryn Prestridge and we hope will do well on the show circuit for her, Kathryn has just started with her stud Four Leaf Limousins.
We used some of the Vigot sexed semen and the unsexed semen and have three lovely heifers, all easy calving and are showing very good docility.
With the Sauvignon bull we used three straws and have three bull calves all with their sire’s traits and rumps to die for…..so we hope their mothers can do them justice.
Some other notable calves are a Neophin and Rocky heifers, Junior bull and another very nice Ardnacrusha Utman bull calf.
Our embryos have produced two very, very nice Neophin X Fernleigh Wendy heifers, and we are expecting two Jockey X Chateau Maxine calves mid year, which we are looking forward to. We flushed Clearday Park Yuppie (who was placed at Sydney Royal Show) to Junior and we now have 10 frozen A grade embryos in the tank
In trying to foster the polled market we have purchased a long, feminine Longreach cow called Amber who has a very nice bull calf which we have now weaned, called Longreach Daniel. We are more than happy with this calf AND his below average docility, he does not mind a scratch on the rump…
The Tobias sale also gave us the opportunity to take over the ownership of a nice young cow Tobias Akimbo who has a polled red bull calf at foot. We also purchased a lovely polled heifer called Tobias Crystal, she is out of the Auto Black Dakota bull Undeniable. We will join Crystal in the New Year. These three Tobias animals have settled in well and have been very easy to work with, thank you Tom and Andrew.
